Four (4) Reasons Why You Haven't Achieved Your Goals Yet

I woke up at 3:30 am this morning thinking about this message - "Knowledge is potential power, ACTION IS REAL POWER."

Most people know what to do when it comes to their goals, habits, and pursuing their aspirations - and yet they struggle with following through.

And then, we obsess with getting more and more information, hoping that it would bridge the gap between the "knowing" and the "doing" - and it doesn't.

I'm raising my hand with you - I've definitely been there.

More information can be a distraction and a form of procrastination.

To bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be, work on your mindset.

It's not a knowledge gap, it's a mindset gap.

As one of my mentors says "Invest in your mindset, everything else you can Google".

Here are 4 reasons (based on my coaching experience) why you may be struggling to take action:

(1) Lack of awareness about your blind spots: We all have subconscious blind spots that we can't identify ourselves. 

When your subconscious programming (your system of beliefs, values, and past experiences) doesn't align with your conscious desires - there is a misalignment between your intention and behavior. This prevents you from moving forward.

(2) Not clear about your long-term direction: When you lack clarity in your long-term direction, you lack purpose. 

You may feel that you are showing up without knowing why - this is a sign that you need to do deep work on who you want to be, what you want to do, and what you are committed to achieving to get there.

(3) The perfectionism paradox: you want to show up perfectly to avoid judgment and you also feel that you need to know every single step of the way to execute. 

You can't be perfect unless you start - this is the paradox. 

Not knowing exactly how is to your advantage, because this will allow you to remain flexible as you incorporate new information while executing. 

THERE'S NO PERFECTION WITHOUT ITERATION - you just need to start somewhere.

(4) Accountability: research indicates that "having an accountability partner boosts the chance to achieve your goals to 95%". 

Having accountability is a key enabler to taking consistent action.
